What this means for you? I've picked a NEW Shadows on the Moon ARC winner out of the hat. Well, actually I picked one and it turned out to be one of the bloggers who *already* has a review copy, so then I picked another one. And the winner is (drumroll please):
SHANNON THE BOOKSTALKER
Cue wailing and gnashing of teeth from all the other blog readers/followers. I'm sorry, you guys - especially for those of you who I know were really crossing your fingers for this. But Lady Luck is a Fickle Mistress and maybe it will be your turn next time. Shannon, please email me through my profile to give me your address so that I can post your prize out to you, as per the picture below:
FYI: I'm implementing a new policy with regard to competitions. I don't want to get too grumpy about it, but for every giveaway/competition I've done there has always been one winner who apparently doesn't read this blog at all, even though they're an official 'follower', and who forces me to send them multiple emails before they respond. It makes me a bit miffed to have to go to all that trouble to give people their free stuff, so...yeah, not doing it anymore.
From now on, I will give any winner seven days, not including the day of the draw, to get in touch. If they don't I pick another winner. That seems fair to me.
Anyway, congratulations, Shannon! And happy Monday to everyone else.

Zoe...that's not how you spell my name! ;-P
Deborah
Um...okay, I admit it - I'm lost. What?
I was trying to be funny...telling you that Shannon the bookstalker is not how you spell Deborah...get it now??
I am a bit miffed by that too, I would've thought they'd email you back straight away, keen on receiving that babyyy!! but eh, people have never made sense to me, so doubt they will now.
Can't wait to read shadows on the moon and frostfire =D keeen!
Aw, sad for me, but HAPPY for Shannon!! Congrats Shannon and enjoy your prize!!
I agree,Zoe, it can get annoying trying to track people down to give them something for free...actually I think most of us who do giveaways give like 2-3 days for a response...so 7 days is very generous! :)
Deborah: I think so - but I think the real Shannon (who's name IS actually spelled like that) might fight you for the ARC. Best give in gracefully.
She Known As Jess: Well, I get that people are busy, but there are limits to how long it's polite to make people wait. Let's hope Shannon gets in touch quickly.
Little Miss Becky: Oh, good - I'm glad I'm not being TOO harsh.
Wow, I hadn't realized how much I'd let my hopes up until I read the post. *Sigh*. Well, congrats, Shannon. Sorry I'm not as gracious and supportive as last time; I'm just getting tired of being so disappointed. What a sore loser I am. I'm sorry, guys. I really hope you enjoy it, Shannon.
Zoe, I'm so sorry to hear you've been having trouble getting a hold of past winners, but I am VERY EXCITED to be the lucky runner-up!!! I'm emailing you right now with me address! Thank you so much, I can't wait to read Shadows on the Moon!
Isabel: *Hugs* Better luck next time, honey.
Shannon: Now THAT'S the kind of response I like to see!
Well...it was worth a shot! lol ;-)
Sorry!
First I'll pout in the sadness. I REALLY WANTED TO WIIIINNNNN!
Anyway, congrats Shannon.
Thanks for being a good sport, Megha.
Haha, anything for a compliment from you :D.
Emphasis: FROM YOU :D XD
Here in Boston, Massachusetts, it's snowing really hard, so schools are closed! I hope our power doesn't go out. Aaanyway.... I started a chart for books read in 2011, (from start to finish: REBEL ANGELS doesn't count) so that I can keep track of how many books I've read by the end of the year. Next *school* year, I'm going to have a lot less time to read, because of after school activities and the homework load, so I'm going to try to get as much reading done for the rest of sixth grade and the summertime as possible. (At my school, reading a free read is part of homework: you are expected to read at least fifteen minutes a day and get your reading log signed by an adult. We don't have very much homework anyway, so I have a lot of valuable time to read.) I finished my first book of the year, (unfortunately it's for school) called THE SIGN OF THE BEAVER, by Elizabeth George Speare. I gave it two stars. (Sorry, I just didn't enjoy it.) But I wrote the title with a nice sparkly gold pen and made the two stars spaaaarkly orange. (I did the author's name in yellow. Not sparkly, unfortunately: I don't have an unlimited supply!)
Can't you tell how bored I am? Really, I have nothing better to do than write about nice, sparkly pens. Sorry. I think I'll go read, to save from dying from sheer, painful boredom.
Having finished FF for the moment, I too am bored out of my skull. The only solution IS to read something good, I think. Let's both go do that and then hopefully we won't want to whine anymore.
It's good to know I'm not the only one that is hopelessly bored. I will read, but right now, with the snow falling even more heavily outside and Boston blanketed in fine, pure, lovely white snow, my pull is writing. Wish me luck! I think I feel some inspiration coming... cross your fingers and your toes! At least I have your post to look forward to in a little bit. =D
Good luck, good luck, good luck!
You two aren't alone! Even though I have a tad of homework, I finish quick and just... don't have anything to do. Thank God for books. Seriously.
Something for you to read in five...four...three...two...ONE.
Zoe: LOL! Thanks for the luck. So far, I've been able to get in some pretty good work. But right now I'm going to read your post.
Megha: What would we do without books?
Congrats to Shannon.
Slightly raging I didn't win but what can ya do.
Zoe that does seem fair I mean we each enter a competition with hopes to win we each have a responsibility to get back to you if we win. Besides I'm sure you get excited for the winner and when they don't respond you must be dissapointed as well
That's right, Nattasha - it feels like being rejected, in a way. I'm glad that Shannon got straight back to me or I'd have started to take it personally!
That's good :)
