SHADOWS ON THE MOON BOOK TRAILER!

Hello dear readers! Today is a momentous day because it is FINALLY time for me to reveal to you the Shadows on the Moon trailer!

I'm really incredibly proud of this (even though my contribution to it was fairly small) and so delighted that my publisher decided to put this much effort into making it something special. They've arranged for it to debut exclusively on Sugarscape.com, which is a digital magazine for teens with a fantastic online book club, which will hopefully get it the attention it deserves - but of course if you want to share it on Facebook or Tweet about it, I'll be very pleased.

But before I give you the link, another quick round-up of the blog tour.

Monday's post was on Writing From the Tub and included a sneak preview of the book and a swag giveaway too.

On Tuesday the wonderful Sarah at Feeling Fictional also offered a sneak preview, and a review - and a brilliant giveaway of two copies of the book, one of which is for INTERNATIONAL readers. So get over there and enter if you haven't already.

Today, lovely Lynsey at Narratively Speaking is doing another exciting giveaway and she will be reviewing the book tomorrow too, so make sure to check that out.

Also tomorrow, in defiance of my normal posting schedule, I'm going to be doing a very special blog post for you, which is based on the talk I gave at the 2010 Walker Undercover event, about the origins of Shadows on the Moon - where the idea came from, how it developed, my experience writing it and what the story means to me. I'll be hosting the book trailer here too. This post won't go up until after 5:30 in the afternoon (due to the exclusivity period which Sugarscape.com has with the trailer) so make sure to check back then for interesting insights into the book.

OK. Now for the moment you've been waiting for. *Deep breaths*

Here's the link to the Shadows on the Moon trailer.

Don't forget to come back and tell me what you think, guys!

The trailer was so good! You must be so happy that it's finally out! :)

I'm over the moon, Rebecca (see what I did there? I crack myself up, honestly).

Wow! It's Super cool. It makes you want to read the book!

That's what we were going for, Borko! :)

Congrats Zoe, the trailer looks great! Would it be okay if I posted it on my blog? I don't normal do that but I want to help spread the word about its release. Also I'm hoping to have it read and reviewed by the end of the month. ;)

Thanks, Shannon! It's fine to post it on your blog - and thank you very much for offering! - but not until Thursday night when the exclusivity period expires. If you get confused working out timezones (like I do) then just check back tomorrow and when you see the trailer appear here you'll know it's fine to put it on your blog too. Thanks again - the more people spreading the word, tbe better!

Cool, thanks! I schedule it for my Thursday night just to be safe. :)

Beautiful trailer! Great atmosphere and the kimonos are gorgeous :)

Zoë Marriott said...

Thanks, Danya! You're right, the kimonos are scrummy. So scrummy that the character looks a bit too glamourous in her 'drudge' guise, but never mind, I'm not complaining.

I. LOVE. THAT. TRAILER. NFFFF

JING IS SO PRETTY! =D

You know on the giveaway on Narratively Speaking, I already have the swag but I'd love to get the book. I haven't ordered it yet because I'm going abroad in a few weeks and if no one's at home we might not get to pick up the parcel etc. etc. BUT should I enter it or not? There's no point of getting more swag but free books are always awesome.....

Gorgeous! I'm going to find and watch it again once I've actually read the book. It'll be even cooler then.

I couldn't quite make out the end of Suzume's last line - after she says "I had done something so terrible..." What was she saying?

Zoë Marriott said...

Megha: Well, from tomorrow you'll be able to walk into most bookshops and pick it right off the shelf, so you wouldn't have to wait for it to come in the post. If you enter the Narratively Speaking giveaway there's just as much a chance that you'll win the swag as the book, and it would be a shame to take that prize from someone who really wants it.

Phoenix: The last line is 'Only the moon now may take pity on me'. Which will make sense when you've read the book :)

The book trailer and all this talk is making me more and more desperate to read the book! Lol
In the trailor I really liked how the design on Otieno's face was exactly like your drawing! I thought that was such an ace touch :)

Rebecca: Wasn't it amazing! I scanned those photos for them and they went to town with them. If authors wishes were normally respected that much by production companies, authors would be much happier when their books were made into films!

What a wonderful trailer! The eye-candy was a nice bonus too ;)

Zoë Marriott said...

Thank you, Rachel - I certainly tought so!

Wow, just - wow. I knew it would be a good one :D

*now plots how to get you on the bestseller lists :D *

Zoë Marriott said...

Go you, Jessie! I'm already practising my dance moves.

Wow. I've never been a fan of Cinderella (Especially the Disney version. Those talking mice.Ugh.)but this looks great. The trailer is amazing. It looks dark and complicated, I can't wait to rwad it. Has a US publishing date been set?

Zoë Marriott said...

Cam: It's tentatively set at April next year - sorry for that long wait, but it is a bit earlier than they originally intended. If you want it now you can order it from The Book Depository - they offer free international shipping: http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/Shadows-on-Moon-Zoe-Marriott/9781406318159 Which makes it a bit cheaper.
