WEDNESDAY FIVE!
Direct your attention to the right of this post. What's that? No, your eyes do not deceive you. The blog is only four followers away from those purple streaks I've been promising. It barely seems like an eyeblink since I was shaking in my shoes over singing the blues to celebrate 200 followers, and now we're as near as dammit to 300. Meanwhile, there have been many helpful and thoughtful comments on whether I should cut all my hair off or not, which have left me...undecided. So I'll get back to you on that one.
Thing the Second:
Shadows on the Moon has topped 1000 adds on Goodreads. I know, right?! And FrostFire has just appeared there too, so if you feel like adding it to your To Read shelf, go right ahead.
Thing the Third:
Oooh, we're into exciting territory here. The American hardback of Shadows on the Moon is now available for pre-order on The Book Depository and Amazon! There's no cover as yet - it's not finalised, and Candlewick like to keep their artwork under wraps until a bit closer to the release date anyway. But it's there! You can see it, you can order it, it's really, really REAL.
Thing the Fourth:
OMG! There's going to be an audiobook of Shadows on the Moon, released simultaneously with the US hardback in April next year. It will be available on CD or as an MP3 download, produced by Brilliance Audio, who are a really wonderful company with an excellent reputation. I've never had an audiobook made of any of my books before and I'm so stoked to hear what the story sounds like in someone else's voice.
Thing the Fifth:
Slightly less exciting for you guys, but very exciting for me, this one. In September I'm going away on holiday for the first time in about four years. I'll be staying in a log cabin in the Lake District and I will have NO INTERNET ACCESS. Scary but necessary if I'm to do anything different from my normal day-to-day activities while I'm away. This means the blog will be on hiatus for one week, from the 10th of September to the 17th. But never fear, we'll be back to a normal posting schedule the following week.
So - what's your Wednesday Five?

I am loving your Wednesday Five! they are all superb items.
My Wednesday Five:
1. The Agents Party I'm arranging for SCBWI BI is coming together far better than I anticipated.
2. I am nearing completion on my massive macro edits on Grimm, my own WIP and I am very excited.
3. Last night I got to meet one of my personal heroes Shaun Tan and upon hearing that I am an aspiring writer he urged me: never give up, always believe in yourself.
4. We are heading down to Arundel area for a few days to visit friends for some writing and walking in the countryside.
5. I have lost over 2 stone this past few weeks and I feel healthier than I have felt for the longest time. The big upside: very few migraines.
Your Wednesday Five are so awesome that they deserve their own blog post! Go Liz, go Liz, go Liz!
The Lake District! THAT'S WHERE I AM! I hope you love it as much as I do, that sounds like a lovely break :)
Alex: I'm sure I will. I've driven through it loads of times on route to other places and always thought it was so beautiful. I'm just hoping it doesn't chuck it down the entire week, that's all.
I love this post, so many brilliant things!
I'm not sure I can come up with a five of my own, but I have now followed and got you another step closer to your streaks (fabby idea).
Jenni: Oh my gosh! Only two followers away, now!
Well done Zoe, you are on your way to super stardom! I have just added Frost Fire to my Goodreads list. Best hurry up and get it out there for me! Have a fabulous holiday. You really do deserve it. x
Viv: I hope that you're right :) The line edits on FF are done now, so only copyedits, proof-reading and typesetting to go!
I can't promise anything about the weather unfortunately Zoe :) P.S. I gave you an award on my blog. I realise you have actual book awards, but it's the thought that counts, right? :D
Alex: It definitely counts to me, yes! Thank you!
I love your Wednesday five! So you wont be writing for a whole week? Will you cope? ;) lol.
My wednesday five are:
-A new idea for a story just sprung up in my head today during my RMPS (Religious, Moral and Philisophical studies) class and I really like it! However, I'm going to be sticking to and working on the trilogy I'm doing now :)
-Went to my first University open day yesterday and I'm getting so excited-and nervous-about starting in 2012! Well, that's if I get in lol.
-I haven't gained back the weight I lost (which was 3 and a half pounds away from losing a stone!) when I was at an Outward Bound Course three weeks ago :)
-How many is that now? 3.Ok,lol. This next one isn't the most exciting one but it does make a BIG difference. I have read a lot of the books from my TBR pile so it is noticably snaller! Although I do have, litrally, 20 more to read lol.
Mmmmm.Ok, I can't think of a number 5. I guess it's a Wednesday four for me :D lol
Rebecca: The idea is that I'll get loads and loads of writing done - just not on the internet! I'm taking my trusty notebooks and pencils with me :) And Finn, of course. Very exciting about your uni open day - remind me when the time comes for finger crossing!
Thank you, will do :) I'm hoping to do law :) So how many books have you got in your TBR pile? :)
Rebecca: Including ebooks? About seventy. *Shamefaced*
*Shakes head in dissappointment* lol :) I thought I had a lot! My pile is definatley tiny now! Lol
Eeek! I'm so ecstatic that FrostFire has appeared on Goodreads, even if it doesn't have a cover yet. Do you think it will be in the same theme as the new UK covers for SotM and TSK?
Just two more followers left! I'm really looking forward to the purple streaks!! ;-)
That's so great that Shadows will be an audiobook. If it's the first of your books yet, then it's probably a really good sign. :-) I wish I could hear it! Who's it going to be narrated by?
Have fun on your trip! I will miss you but I look forward to seeing some of the cool pictures you'll take.
Oh yeah, today is the release day of my mom's book! Yay!
Isabel: Well, there's a new cover designer working on my books now, so she may stick with the theme or she may go for something completely different. We'll see.
They haven't started work on the audiobook yet, so the narrator is yet to be chosen. I'm told I might get to hear them and maybe chose from a selection, so I'll have to hope that they find someone great.
Congratulations to your mum on her book! :)
