WOMEN IN FANTASY

Hello, my duckies! Happy Friday to you all! Yesterday - the 5th of July - was FrostFire's official publication date (even though Amazon has been shipping it out to people since late last week) and so now we're in the hushed waiting period, both longing for and dreading reviews. Eeep.

I would absolutely LOVE it if people would send me pictures of FrostFire out in the wild. Shots of it on the shelf, or of yourself holding it in a bookshop - they make my day. So remember to charge your phones or take your cameras when you go shopping next!

Today is the third stop on the FrostFire Blog Tour, and the topic is Women in Fantasy (or Fantasy Women, as I wanted to call it). It's all about my favourite girl characters, and it's been hosted by the delightful Lynsey of Narratively Speaking. Head on over there and read!

This week there's also a couple of really interesting interviews with me online. The first is with Novia at Truly Bookish as part of her MultiCultural Book Challenge - and there's a giveaway of Shadows on the Moon for USians, too! Then Kaylie from the Bluewater Waterstone's interviewed me for her book club's blog. Check those both out. There were some great questions.

In the meantime, to celebrate (belatedly) the release date, and just in case you haven't seen it yet - the FrostFire trailer!

I'm in London at the moment so I'll definitely go hunting for FrostFire in the wild! And maybe defy my budget and buy myself a copy today :D

Alex: Selfishly, I really hope that you find it! *Worries*

Rachel: I'll cross my fingers that it gets to you sooner, somehow. Or at least on time!

Also I just read your post on Women in Fantasy. And to think, only half an hour ago I was struggling for books to read... :)

EEEEEP!!!

I'm so excited! I'm going shopping with my friends tomorrow and I really hope FrostFire will be at WHSmiths or Waterstones!

Zoë Marriott said...

Megha: Ooh! I hope it's THERE. If not u can always ask at the counter, btw - sometimes they have a box in the back that they just haven't opened yet.

I'm trying to hold off buying Frostfire until the Summer Scream next month, as I really would love to buy it there. (I wonder if how long this notion will last...)

I just read your Women In Fantasy post, and I have to say Sophie (from the Castle books) is one of my all time favourite heroines. I just love those three books - end of really. They are sooo funny, yet tell amazing heart warming stories too.

One last thing - your answer to the advice question in the interview on Kaylie's book blog, has to be one of the best answers I've seen to that question.

Amie: That sounds like a good plan - I kind of hope that you succeed. And I also kind of hope that you don't! I have mixed feeeelings :)

Thank you! It's nice to know that my rambling still makes sense. After the third or fourth interview that you give (and I must be into the teens now) it gets harder and harder to say anything interesting or useful.

Emma: *Grins* That is the reaction I was looking for, yes :)

Somehow the anti spam thing ended up in my message - well you see how excited I am!
